Damires Hills Tierra Verde, Janiuay, Iloilo

Damires Hills Tierra Verde has always come up whenever suggestions for a quick getaway is in talks with my groups of friends, the reason why I’ve been there a couple of times already. It’s also easy to commute to from Iloilo City.

Photos featured here will be a mix of my previous visits. They are constantly improving the place so you’ll probably notice the changes. Photo credits to my friends who had better camera phone than me.

I’ll try my best to remember the details of how to commute since we went there by private car the last time I went there with friends a few days ago.  If you’re going to commute, ride the Janiuay jeep from Ungka Terminal in front of Christ the King Memorial Park. Just inform the driver to drop you off at the tricycles which will take you to Damires. Jeepney ride is I think about an hour long for P 30 or something, and the tricycle ride is P10 – P20 per person.

Upon arriving, you’ll be greeted warmly in this reception area.

With my friend from work, Irene, and a Couchsurfer from Colombia, David.

You may opt not to avail of the daytime cottage like we did on my latest trip there. We just went around, took pictures, and crossed the hanging bridge.

BUDGET TIP: It’s not reflected in their flyer but there is actually an option for a P 1,500 daytime stay. I think it’s previously P 1,000 a few years back. You will be assigned a table at one of their bigger cottages, and it’s consumable on food and drinks.

Sign a waiver for the activities at the cafe. A tour guide is actually available for the canopy walk but every time we go there, we just went by ourselves, at your own risk of course. But really, it’s safe and there’s a trail anyway.

Notice in the following two photos how the signage aged:

Feeling hacienderas

Kinda infinity pool for adults
Kiddie pool

The Canopy Walk can be done two ways. From this part near the accommodation is the longer option but it is where you can have a good backdrop for your photos. The shortcut was the way from the pool area.

Just follow the poem along and you won’t get lost.

The end of the hanging bridge if you started from the Canopy Walk sign.

And I realized just now I haven’t tried any of their adventures. Oh well, I’d probably have another visit.
